Health and ADHD

ADHD Research

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Researchers are not sure what actually cause ADHD. Symptoms include lack of interest in activities, poor focus, inability to follow instructions and doing things at inappropriate times. ADHD develops in childhood.
Children with ADHD face difficulties in achieving their academic goals. ADHD can be controlled with certain techniques. General treatment for ADHD is through medication.

In the past ADHD was not a common disease. Children with ADHD were considered to be lazy, not paying attention to studies, and frustrated. In the past few years, it is seen that there are many children, as well as adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD is one of the most prevalent conditions among school age children. Lack of awareness about ADHD causes disappointment among parents of an ADHD child.

Research has not established the causes of ADHD. Children with ADHD behave and react differently to situations. ADHD does exist and it is stressful and frustrating for children and parents. It is reported that 21 percent of children with ADHD skip school and they are more likely to get into accidents.

Environment

Medication is important in ADHD and like other psychological disorders, ADHD is associated with environment. It also requires suitable changes in environment and schedule. Behavioural change is also helpful in adult ADHD. Acceptance is the first step in ADHD treatment.

Healthy Body and Mind

A healthy body has a healthy mind, or we can say that a healthy mind has a healthy body. Mental health is an important issue.
Large organisations conduct psychological tests to examine mental health of potential candidates who are applying for jobs. It is important because a psychologically fit person has more chances of success on the job. In today’s work environment employees have to face workloads, job related stress and other problems related to mental alertness.

Personality and Domestic Lives

Scope of mental health is not only limited to workplace. It also plays a role in our domestic lives. People with healthy minds and cheerful personalities enjoy good relationships. They have higher level capacity to cope with stress and difficult situations. In domestic lives they are happier. In contrast, people with psychological problems indulge themselves in problems, which are rooted from their illness.

Mental Wellbeing

Aspects of mental health is not only important for adults, it is also important for children. Children with psychological problems such as inferiority complex, lack of confidence, excessive shyness, fears and traumas, poor attention and lack of interest, face difficulties in achieving their goals. It is seen that most of the psychological problems start in childhood.

How psychological disorders develop?

There are many issues in this regard, such as poor physical health, genetics, societal issues, stress, depression and domestic issues. For many psychological disorders research has not found exact causes. Persons facing constant stress become depressed and more prone to psychological disorder. One of the major issues in diagnosing psychological disorders is the lack of awareness.

There are many psychological conditions and disorders. Some of them are Stress, Depression, Bipolar Depression, Schizophrenia, ADHD, Melancholia and split personality.
